Shared Paths: A Collaborative Reflection on Travel

Our zine, Shared Paths by PLAY, is a collective expression from graduate creatives reflecting and observing from our individual journeys abroad. Through photography, sketching, doodling, and media design, we’ve gathered our thoughts, observations, and experiences into a single handmade publication.

What began as casual kōrero around how we each documented our travels, some through visual diaries, others through spontaneous phone captures or layered media collages, quickly turned into a shared realisation: while our mediums and destinations varied, the essence of what we were trying to hold onto felt deeply familiar.

This zine is our way of honouring those moments: the fleeting sights, the small details, the cultural connections, and the ways we tried to preserve them.

It’s a first step for us in creating a Zine but we wish to evoke, memory, movement, and the stories we carry home. We hope Shared Paths resonates with our creative community here in Aotearoa and invites others to reflect on the privilege, beauty and complexity of travel, not just as physical movement, but as a process of observation, sharing, and reconnection.
