Trishlou

Saturday 5th July

I’m an artist based in Pōneke, my work explores the vivid maximalism of feminine youth and the “mundane” wonderfully absurd rituals that come with it. I try to make work that’s vibrant, humorous and warm, and I work with a variety of traditional materials. My zines are very hand-made and as colourful as I can make them. My zines started off focusing on my illustrative work and poetry, but my stock is expanding! Specifically this year, I will include things like essays on the internet’s impact on beauty and understanding of self, a collaboration on a zine about renting (a compilation of collage, photography, poetry and life experience) and a review zine that examines the movies that should have radicalised us as kids. I will also have fluffy (yet deceptively deep) mini zines such as one about what I learned from Miss Piggy.
