friendly fire
Saturday 1 August
friendly fire is a project by the duo incendie (Stu Sontier and Brennan Goddard) that explores the legacy, contemporary relevance, and future implications of nuclear-origin radiation.
The project includes zines, online and physical art pieces in a project which takes nuclear testing and waste as its theme.
Stu Sontier - experimental photographer and visual artist - has been making art themed zines for several years and showed his own and 2 of the friendly fire zines at the 2025 community table. He uses a photographic base along with commercial imaging systems like Google Earth to explore failing digital technologies and their associated waste.
Brennan Goddard - (aigardening) - is an applied physicist working at CERN whose artistic expression explores technological processes that bridge code/digital domains and physical production: from code to lino-cuts, zines to ceramic works.
