GAWA
Saturday 1 August
Stall #5, North Atrium
GAWA’s zines build solidarity towards better futures through inviting sociopolitical consciousness. Current zines explore migrant homelanding, land grabbing, political dynasties, sustainable food systems, Filipino folklore, and more.
GAWA is a project with contributors composed of Filipino artists, activists, and students. GAWA hopes to expand into a more international network, recognising the deep interconnectedness of our seemingly individual struggles. So, if you’d like to make something with GAWA, please get in touch!
GAWA means ‘make’, ‘labour’, ‘craft’, ‘work’, ‘create’. As tau iwi, we uphold tino rangatiratanga and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
