Jiaqiao Liu is a poet from Shandong, China, who grew up in Tāmaki-makau-rau. Their first poetry collection, Dear Alter (2025, AUP) explores the ambiguous and paradoxical relationships between humans and machines. He primarily creates poetry zines – mostly just to do something with all the really niche poems he seems to accumulate that don't belong anywhere else (e.g. Howick Historical Village Sonnets, gamer bro poems, favourite circles). They also make fun little photo zines about their hand-made plush based on a baby-shaped telecommunications robot. He has made one (1) comic zine.
