John Borras Tan (johnthebeloved) is a Filipino designer and visual artist based in Tāmaki Makaurau. His practice sits between art, craft, and design, embracing the spaces and methods where these disciplines overlap. Through graphic design, experimental bookbinding, photography, and print, he creates tactile works that explore memory, identity, and the quiet significance of everyday life.

Driven by curiosity and making, his projects move fluidly between research and play, documentation and storytelling, often transforming ordinary observations into books, zines, and printed objects. Alongside his personal practice, he supports the Bindery at Auckland University of Technology and co-runs Together We Design, a branding studio based in the Philippines. His latest project, The Memory Card Library, is an introspective stationery system that reimagines how memories can be collected, reflected upon, and archived through handwritten cards.
