Hello! My name is Orson.

I’m a Photographer and Broadcast Camera Operator based in Auckland. I don’t travel much but I love going on photo walks and making the most of my immediate environment.

I often end up blasting music in my ear buds while I walk. I’m always coupling the images I post on socials with new music I find. Often the music I listen to as I shoot has an effect on the subjects I shoot. I got really into the album Vanisher, Horizon Scraper by Quadecca late last year and ended up shooting lots of Beaches, Boats, and Water. I wanted to share them so I compiled them into a zine and had the images fade into each other making the boundaries between them vague and ambiguous.

I have stories like this for all of my zines. 
Trying new things is the way I get the most joy and compelling results with my art. If I’m not trying something new I’m probably not enjoying it.
