Are you ready to create a zine in 24 hours? And no, you don’t have to stay awake the whole time! Auckland Zinefest challenges our Tāmaki Makaurau community again to get inspired and make your very own zine. Participants will be given a random zine genre, guidance and materials to make an A3 folded zine in 24hrs.
The challenge kicks off when genres are drawn at 3pm on Saturday. You can start working on your zine at the library until it closes at 5pm. The library will open again at 10am on Sunday and you can submit your final zines until the 24 hrs are up!
Come along to the Auckland City Library or join us online through Discord to participate.
HOW IT WORKS:
→ To start the challenge, you will need to draw a zine genre and zine topic to base your zine on.
→ You will have 24 hours from 2pm Saturday to complete your zine.
→ Your zine can be filled with drawings, photography, a story, poetry, it’s entirely up to you!
→ The only rules are to stick to your zine genre and topic and complete it in 24 hours.
→ Auckland Zinefest will have supplies to get crafty with at the library on both days.
→ All zines that make it to the finish line will be added to the library's zine collection and enter Auckland Zinefest's Best of the Fest competition!
→ The winner will be announced at the Zinefest closing party and receive a special prize.
