Alex: “I’m a cartoonist, artist, magazine sub-editor and author of the graphic novel Episodes. My zines combine my love of drawing and language. They’re also an exciting way to realise ideas I haven’t found an outlet for in my 9-5 work or in any other artform. While posting work online has its merits, nothing compares to holding something physical in your hands and turning the pages.”

Imogen: “I’m an Auckland-based graphic designer and art director. For the past decade I’ve worked predominately in print media at many of New Zealand’s most read magazines covering fashion, architecture and interior design. I’ve become interested in zines as a way to reconnect with why I embarked on a creative career – free from commercial interests and client demands. Much like my scrappy illustration style, I’m excited about making zines that embrace imperfections and quirks.”
