Sophie Watson lives in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland where she balances art and craft tutoring with illustration work, parenting and her own arts practice.

A tinkerer and experimenter by nature, her love of trying new things feeds into a diverse output which spans painting, paper craft, printmaking, collage and comics. These disparate mediums are expressed through a characteristic whimsical, wonky, tactile charm often accompanied by vibrant, considered colour palettes. Her illustrations have featured on book covers, in magazines, children’s books and posters.
