As a journalist on Auckland's North Shore, writing essays and stories is my sanctuary—a personal haven away from the strict, neutral demands of news writing. This year, I finally found the form I love: essays, and for the first time, I challenged myself to write them in English. If just one line touches your heart, I would be deeply happy.

Today, I’ve brought two books. The first is an essay collection(< things that fed me>) about six everyday objects; as I move further away from home, I’ve begun to see them through a new lens.

The second (<blue and green>)is a short story collection written over the past decade across China, the Philippines, and New Zealand. If you are a woman or an immigrant, I believe you will find pieces of yourself in these pages.
